Andrea Gonzales (she/her) is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and has worked with clients both individually and in groups for the last four years. She was born and raised in Albuquerque, which led her to try something completely different when she decided to complete her  Bachelor’s degree at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. It was there, 2,000 miles away from home, that she learned to appreciate her Chicana roots, which later allowed her to recognize the importance of cultural competency in therapy and its impact on client outcomes. It was also during this time that she developed a great respect for the LGBTQ+ community. Since becoming a counselor, Andrea has enjoyed working to create a safe and supportive space where BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ clients can find the help they need to recover. 

Since June 2023, Andrea has also served as the Practice Manager for Whole Self Counseling!
