Ayanna has over 20 years of experience working in various social service settings that encompass a diverse population. Ayanna obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Social Work degree from New Mexico Highlands University. Ayanna has a broad range of experience working with adolescents, at-risk youth and adults of all ages in order to help manage depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, stress, and life transitions. She uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing while utilizing a person-centered, strengths-based framework to highlight her clients’ natural abilities, values and beliefs. Ayanna creates a safe space to be able to “feel all the feels” and welcomes you to be your authentic self while working on your journey of healing.
