Allie (she/they; ella/elle), is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of New Mexico. Prior to her work in New Mexico, Allie was a social worker and case manager in Texas and Louisiana in where she was able to work with vulnerable populations in the deep south. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Women and Gender Studies from Tulane University in 2013 and her Masters in Social Work from USC in 2020.
The foundation of Allie’s clinical practice is seeing past the binary imposed by social systems and supporting people in living their best life. Through her studies, work and personal life, she has learned that navigating the world as our genuine and most authentic self with all of our intersecting identities, is a beautiful and healing experience. As a social worker, Allie views mental health work as an integral part of social justice. This perspective acknowledges there are systemic factors that contribute to mental health disparities and positions therapy as a means of challenging and transforming those systems. Allie’s practice is rooted in supporting LGBTQIA+, HIV/Aids, BIPOC communities and promoting bodily autonomy for all.
Incorporating her personal experience as a Latine individual adds a layer of cultural competence and understanding to her practice. Her dedication to social justice, inclusivity, and helping others empower themselves reflects her compassionate and transformative approach to mental health care. Allie utilizes CBT, DBT, Somatic and a “real” talk approach. She deeply believes in self determination and paving a way forward in where the client is in the driver seat of their own mental health journey.
She finds joy and rejuvenation in her queer little family with her 4 dogs, bearded dragon, 4 sisters and her husband, Dany. She is 3rd generation Chicana and Navajo; coming from the eldest daughter, grandchild and sibling experience. She enjoys art, makeup, true crime and just going for a drive while listening to music.
Currently, Allie’s caseload is full and there is a wait list.
